Al-A'raf

The Heights

Al-Araf traces recurring choices between attentive obedience and arrogant refusal. Adam's encounter with temptation introduces the need for guidance, while scenes of judgment reveal the consequences of those choices. Accounts of successive prophets show how power, custom, and prosperity can obstruct moral reform. Moses' story receives extended treatment, followed by reflections on covenant and human recognition of God. The conclusion turns warning into a discipline of forgiveness, remembrance, and receptive listening.
