Surah 52 · 49 verses

At-Tur

The Mount

At-Tur opens with solemn signs and the certainty of judgment, then portrays both the loss of those who dismiss it and the grateful security of believers. In Paradise, families recall their former concern and Allah's kindness. A rapid series of questions dismantles accusations against the messenger and exposes unsupported assumptions about creation, revelation, and unseen knowledge. The chapter ends by entrusting the Prophet to Allah's care and calling him toward patient praise, especially through the night and at the fading of the stars.

Traditionally placed in the Makkan period, At-Tur responds to accusations and resistance through direct questions. Its closing reassurance supports patient proclamation rather than dependence on the audience's immediate approval.
