Surah 47 · 38 verses

Muhammad

Muhammad

Muhammad examines the distance between hearing revelation and committing oneself when obedience becomes costly. In a setting of armed conflict, it addresses battle, captives, perseverance, and the reward of those killed in Allah's cause. Images of Paradise and punishment sharpen the contrast between clear guidance and desire. Hypocrisy appears through fearful retreat, secret agreements, and damaging speech. The chapter urges reflection on the Qur'an, loyalty that survives testing, and generosity that recognizes Allah's independence from human wealth or service.
